Brentwood

One of the best places to grow up in Los Angeles.

Welcome to Brentwood

A quiet, beautiful, and prosperous place to call home.

Stately manors within the hills protected beneath lush, green treetops line the streets of Brentwood, one of the most peaceful neighborhoods in Los Angeles. Homes are situated on oversized lots providing residents with privacy away from prying eyes, especially homes located higher up in the canyons. High-performing schools, quaint boutiques, and a world-class museum are just a few reasons Brentwood is one of the best places to grow up in Los Angeles.

First part of the small community of Westgate, the area was annexed by the city of Los Angeles in 1916. As Brentwood grew, many famous stars retreated to this then-hidden gem for its quiet streets and relative seclusion away from the bright lights of Hollywood. Marilyn Monroe, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and LeBron James are just a few stars who have found solitude in the tranquil, serene hills of Brentwood.

What to Love

  • A peaceful, quiet, and a wonderful place to raise a family
  • An overall elevated standard of living
  • A plethora of parks, scenery, and natural beauty for all to appreciate

Local Lifestyle

While western Los Angeles offers its fair share of glitz and glamour, Brentwood locals are fond of their more peaceful, slower pace of living. Although Brentwood is a bit more easygoing than neighboring communities, residents still enjoy close access to museums, parks, exquisite dining, and close proximity to major freeways. Brentwood’s perfect location allows for easy access to both the beach, downtown Los Angeles, and LAX International Airport, thanks to the several nearby freeways.

Dining, Entertainment, and Shopping

A wide variety of dining options have made Brentwood an LA hotspot for discovering new trends, while appreciating the classics. From steakhouses, to sushi, to new kids on the block making a splash on the culinary scene, there is a different aspect of Brentwood to experience each day.

Baltaire is arguably the best steakhouse in all of Los Angeles. A chic, intimate setting is home to some of the finest dry and wet-aged steaks served with a sauce which has developed a cult following of its own. In addition to high-quality cuts of beef, their creamed spinach, lobster mac, crab cakes, and handcrafted cocktails are popular additions to one of the best meals in the city.

Traditional Japanese sushi is served at Sushi Miyagi, a classy and upscale establishment known for their omakase dinners. Omakase, translating to, “I’ll leave it up to you,” is a collection of seasonal offerings chosen by the chef. Chef Shinichi Miyagi has developed quite a reputation in Los Angeles for his experience, exquisite pairings, and deep knowledge of the art of sushi.

Romantic Italian meals can be found nearby at Amici Brentwood. Authentic, handcrafted meals using local ingredients have kept patrons coming back for years and years. Burrata, colorful salads, homemade pasta, and an impressive wine menu have built a solid reputation among both locals and visitors alike over many years.

More casual options inspired by the flavors of sunny Southern California have made Pizzana a new favorite in recent years. The more savory vision from the founders of Sprinkles Cupcakes has consistently been named as one of the best new restaurants in all of Los Angeles by Eater, Thrillist, The Los Angeles Times, Goop, Food & Wine, The Hollywood Reporter, and more. The cacio e pepe pizza has been referred to as “a small miracle,” a meal “to die for,” and one of the best pizzas in the city.

Things To Do

Despite the vibrancy of nearby Beverly Hills and the greater Los Angeles area as a whole, Brentwood residents often find they do not need to stray too far from home for simple leisure. The Getty is a campus of the Getty Museum. It is well known for its spectacular views, ahead-of-its-time architecture, and immaculate gardens. The Getty looks over Mandeville Canyon Park, a vast system of canyons open to hikers, bikers, and four-legged friends, with miles and miles of pathways to explore. A regular weekend ritual among locals is a stop at the Brentwood Farmers’ Market. Each Saturday, this extensive market offers a wide array of organic prepared foods, produce, tamales, dairy-free desserts, and even a petting zoo for the young ones.

Schools

Western Los Angeles is home to some of the most prestigious preparatory schools in the state. One notable campus is:

  • The Harvard-Westlake School, grades 7-12; located in nearby Bel Air, this college preparatory school has consistently been ranked as the best in private high school in Los Angeles
